πŸ“… Overdue Items & Billing Policy

We understand that life gets busy, and sometimes items are returned late. Here's what you need to know about our overdue and billing policy:

⏳ No Daily Late Fines

We do not charge daily fines for overdue items. However, keeping materials past their due date can lead to billing if they are not returned in a timely manner.

πŸ“§ Overdue Notices

If an item is overdue, you will receive up to three reminder notices sent to your Pellissippi State email account. These notices are a courtesy to help you stay on track.

  • Students, Faculty, and Staff: Notices are sent to your official PSCC email.
  • Community Borrowers: Notices are sent to the email address listed in your library account.

⚠️ Important: Not receiving an email does not exempt you from overdue charges. Please check your email regularly and keep your contact information up to date.

πŸ’΅ Billing for Unreturned Items

If an item is not returned within 30 days of its due date:

  • You will receive a bill for the replacement cost of the item.
  • The bill will be mailed to your home address on file via the U.S. Postal Service.
  • The item will be referred to Business Services, and the charge will be added to your Banner account.
  • Billed items cannot be renewed.

πŸ“š Reserve Items

Reserve materials (short-term, in-library use) are billed one week after the due date, and charges include the full replacement cost.

πŸ” Returning Billed Items

If you return a billed item in good condition within one year of the billing date:

  • The replacement cost will be credited or refunded.

⚠️ Collection Procedures

Unpaid bills may be subject to college collection processes, including additional fees.

This policy applies to all library users, including students, faculty, staff, and community borrowers.
