PSCC Faculty Senate: Senators

The online site for the Pellissippi State Faculty Senate

Senators

Members of the full-time faculty who are eligible for election to membership in the Senate must hold academic appointments with the rank of instructor, assistant professor, associate professor, or professor, and whose teaching accounts for more than 50% of the standard 15-hour teaching load or whose primary duties are library service.

Each academic school of the college having at least 20 full-time tenure-track faculty members is entitled to elect three representatives to the Faculty Senate, with at least two of them during any given academic year holding academic tenure at the time of election. Each academic school of the college having fewer than 20 full-time tenure-track faculty members is entitled to elect two representatives to the Faculty Senate, with at least one of them during any given academic year holding academic tenure at the time of election. Academic schools with 40 or more faculty are entitled to four senators, with at least two of them holding academic tenure at the time of election, and schools with 60 or more faculty get five senators, with at least three of them holding academic tenure at the time of election.

Each academic department within a school is entitled to seat one representative. Efforts should be made to ensure that each department within a school has at least one senator. If a department does not nominate a representative, the school is still entitled to its number of senators.

The term of office for an elected member of the Senate will be two (2) years or until a successor is elected. Terms will begin July 1 and continue through June 30, two years hence.

This tab will list the Faculty Senate roster for the current year as well as previous terms. Members are listed under the schools [effective 2025-2026] and/or campuses they represent. Previous years are organized by departments and campuses.
