A: When you meet students for the first time, here are some topics you can discuss:
- your role as a career mentor.
- the roles of academic advisors and success coaches on their Student Success Team.
- students' plans after graduation.
- the next meeting.

- encourage a student to get hands on experience in their chosen field.
- help a student find an internship.
- connect a student with someone working in their industry.
- talk with a student about being an officer in student government or a club
- explore study abroad with a student
- connect a transfer student with alumni or someone at their prospective institution
- explore the value of acquiring one or more credentials
