Pellissippi ambassadors for library success

We're seeking students to work with us—not just for us!

Library ambassadors will be trained to staff the Reference Desk in the Hardin Valley library in the Educational Resource Center (ERC). At the Reference desk, work often involves helping students with finding locations on campus, booking study rooms, using the printers, and more.  Student workers can also help us by bringing fresh ideas to the library, and creating and promoting new services and library events that are student-focused.  Examples of work that our students have been involved with include designing book displays for holidays, creating social media posts about the library, helping out with the seed library, and many other opportunities.

PALS students can work up to 15 hours a week, Monday through Friday, and will earn $14.00/hr, with a raise possible after 6 months. Work shifts depend on your course schedule and when help is most needed at the Reference desk. Right now, the program is limited to the Pellissippi State Library at the Hardin Valley Campus, but we anticipate expanding to other campuses in the future.

Requirements:

  • High School Degree/GED
  • Students must have a 2.8 GPA to be eligible for this program.
  • Students must be enrolled in 6 credit hours
