The Pellissippi State Community College Libraries have purchased eleven iPads for faculty use and checkout. There are five iPads at the Hardin Valley campus Educational Technology Services (ETS) office and two at each of Pellissippi's other campuses.
There are two types of faculty iPads available for checkout from ETS at the Hardin Valley Campus: Library iPads and ETS iPads.
The five Library iPads have approximately 50 apps preloaded for convenience. Faculty cannot freely download additional apps onto these iPads, however, the library welcomes app suggestions and will work to make those apps available if they are determined to be relevant. Also, at all site campuses, there are two Library iPads for faculty use.
There are ten ETS iPads, in addition to the Library iPads, which do not contain any preloaded apps. Faculty may check out these iPads and download whichever apps they deem relevant, and then upon return, all items will be removed from the iPads. Any apps that are added to these iPads are purchased by the individual and not by ETS or the library. These iPads are available to all Pellissippi faculty members, and must be returned to the campus they were checked out from. For more information regarding faculty iPads, please contact the ETS department (539-7333) on the Hardin Valley campus.
