Circulation: Lending Services

This guide describes circulation policies regarding: library cards, checking out items, loan periods, returning items, overdue notices and replacement costs, intercampus loans, interlibrary loans, and the reserve system.

Borrowing and Renewing

To check out library materials, bring them to the library's Circulation Desk or a campus ERC Service Desk and present a Pellissippi State ID card valid for the current term, or present a combination of the following items: 

  1.              Government issued ID (Driver's license, state issued ID card, military ID, or passport).
  2.              Your Pellissippi Student Number (P-Number).
  3.              Confirm your address in the system.

Return items to the library's Circulation Desk or any campus ERC Service Desk. Also at the Hardin Valley Campus, there is an external book return accessible 24 hours a day is located on the right just before you reach the entrance to the ERC Building.

All borrowers are subject to the library's policies and are responsible for any financial obligation incurred as well as for any collection fees accrued.

Area residents who are at least 18 years old may request a Community Borrower's Card at the library's Circulation Desk by:

  1. Completing a registration form, and
  2. Presenting a valid Tennessee driver's license (or other acceptable proof of identity, age, and Tennessee residency).

The card is valid for one year and may be renewed.

All borrowers are subject to the library's policies and are responsible for any financial obligation incurred as well as for any collection fees accrued.

Students, faculty and staff from other participating Tennessee Board of Regents and University of Tennessee schools may come to the Circulation Desk to register for borrowing privileges at Pellissippi State's library by:

  1. Presenting a valid TBR/UT (TALC) Borrowers Card issued by their school,
  2. Presenting a valid photo ID, and
  3. Completing a patron registration process.

To renew items:

  • Bring the items to the library's Circulation Desk or a campus ERC Service Desk.
  • PSCC students, faculty, and staff may stop by the library's Circulation Desk or a campus ERC Service Desk and tell us which items you want to renew (items do not have to be present). You will be asked for your Pellissippi ID card or just your P number.
  • Call the Circulation Desk at 865.694.6516 and provide either your P number or the barcode number from the back of your TALC or Community Borrower's Card.
  • Click the My Account link from the library catalog. (Pellissippi State faculty, students, and staff only)
  • Click the Renew Books link from the library's home page. (Pellissippi State faculty, students, and staff only)
